The valleys of the Central High Atlas are renowned for their authenticity and beauty of their villages, but you never come to choose; as they are numerous in this part of the Atlas that makes up to 200 km wide, so we have shoosen for you.
Perfect for hiking and trekking, the High Atlas Mountains are perfect year round. There are tall summits that reach beyond 13,000 feet, but the trails and paths allow for the average hiker to trek through the area and at least make it to the refuge without much difficulty. So if you are simply in shape and starving for a great hike in a far away land—the paths through the Atlas Mountains may be exactly what you are looking for.
There are many paths throughout all of these valleys and through the mountains themselves. If you go along a guided path, usually there will be donkeys or other beasts of burden to carry most of the equipment, leaving you only needing a light basic pack. Though you do not need to be a professional mountain climber to hike the High Atlas trails, you do need to be in good shape to endure some of the trails.
